Air New Zealand took us out of the plain to Cook Islands because we did not have a flight out of Auckland. I checked everywhere. This requirement is not mentioned anywhere. Cook Island gov clearly say just onward travel is needed. There is much more to the story where they failed. Lets see how this ends. Will probably lose quite some money. We are very angry but all right. Finally got ourselves a hotel at 02:00 local (05:00 Montréal). No booked a fully refundable flight Auckland-Sidney Quantas for just 1300 CHF. Any such reqirement is useless.

Panic because of just 3 h time in LA was completely superfluous. New gate was just 30 m walk with no checks at all. Now 2 h till boarding.
Interesting. You can buy an international prepaied phone completely anonumous at a vending machine. Does not tell me the rates so I am not gonna buy.

Giving car back. Guys wanted 1000$ more for bringing it to wrong airport. Was remarked handwritten on contract but not in system. Clerk was very good and sorted out. Even did not have to pay for the gaz.

Then customs and all. Luggage and boarding is till Cook Island, big releave.
Now boarding. Kids are somewhat getting on our already stained nerves. All will be good.
